Crash when im start the game

Hello!

This is very strange.

when i start the game it crash at the EA Games logo.

Please help me with this problem

My setup:

Athlon x2

Nvidia 9500 gt

2 gb ram

windows xp 32-bit

etc..

Have you run a virus scan lately?  Your game may be corrupt.

You can try without the EA logo nonsense by putting this at the end of the command line in the shortcut for the game after one space:

-intro:off

This option gets rid of the EA games announcement and the movie.  The game should go directly to the SimCity 4 panel and then to the region view.

The other possibility is something about your hardware.  Make sure your sound system and graphics systems are OK.  If necessary, run the diagnostics on them.  The easiest way to check them out on windows is to open the run box and enter

dxdiag

then press the enter key.  This will run the DirectX mutli-media diagnostics.  Read the panels carefully and follow the instructions and you'll find out a lot about your machine.

Right now, my multimedia equipment is disabled due to driver trouble, and the game crashes to the desktop when it tries to access my sound chip.  This will be fixed when I get a new driver.

Oh, and speaking of drivers:

Make sure your controls on your graphics card are set up so that extra options like anti-aliasing are set to "application selected" or equivalent wording.
