Hello all Simtropolis users!

I've started modelling the ground floor of the Hearst Magazine tower, this is all I've done so far. But I'm going for quality, not quantity; so it'll take a while to finish it. I'll post more progress soon. 4.gif

Until then...

    Thanks! 4.gif

Google Streetview is very useful where aerial shots can't reach well. 9.gif

You have barely started and you are already overlooking the proportions and details of the building. The doors and windows seem too large, and the grand entrance seems blunt (rounded rectangle rather than arch). The mini, faux terraces are not aligned with the windows and the spindles (and the balconies themselves) are WAY too over simplified.

Only having this much, however, give you an opportunity to take a MUCH closer look at the proportions of the building without losing much effort. Jason gives a good example of how you can measure things in a tutorial on his blog, I suggest you read it.

He is still free to try, if only as an exercise in proportions. Anyone can BAT anything they like. No one has to ask us (the BSP) if they want to make something from Detroit, the same goes for NYC.

Anyway the BAT itself is looking all right for starts, and I'm going with Todd about the BAT so far, looks like you're overlooking some things.

EDIT: Eyes playing tricks on me and mistook something...so the rant at first is no longer here sorry. 3.gif
