Connecting RHW Between Regions

This'll probably sound silly to more experienced players, but I can't seem to connect my rhw's between regions consistently. I'll give a down low on my situation.

I tend to create one region which provides all the power, water and trashland my cities will need. I usually connect to it with a regular highway, but this time decided to use a RHW. Now, bear with me here, the rural highway WORKED. The freight and trucks showed up on it, used it to go to my other cities and that's that.

But here's where it gets tricky. I went to my residential region to check how it was doing and it happened to greet me with an entire maps worth of no job zots. No matter what I did to edit this side of the rural highway (my only connecting piece to the other region) the residents failed to use it.

I know I have to place the yellow line on the inside, so that isn't the problem. Anyone know the situation?

There are puzzle pieces included in the RHW mod, which make neighbour connections possible for all networks that come from the RHW. The only one that doesn't need a special threatment is the RHW-2 (the default).

You have two kinds of connection pieces: a "regular" connector piece and an "invisible loop" connector. "The "regular" should be plopped on the network tile, while the "invisible loop" should be placed in the median (if the two directions are seperated one tile).

Well, if RHW-2's are supposed to be fine by default, I don't know what's wrong. Those are the one's I'm using and I still can't get my ***** citizens to use the damn thing.

Am I supposed to do something specific with the connector pieces?
