Tan Boxes

Can anyone tell me when I use an item that is downloaded from STEX it appears in my city as a tan box and looks nothing like what it looks like on this website?  I put the files in the SC4 plugins folder, should I be putting the entire downloaded folder in the plugins folder or are the files enough?  Maybe it's because I don't have the Deluxe/Rush Hour version?  What am I doing wrong?

Most, if not all, of the lots currently on the STEX are created for Rush Hour/Deluxe.  It is worth the extra ten bucks at Wal Mart to upgrade your game.  If you can, I would buy Rush Hour and not Deluxe because Rush Hour will upgrade you to the Deluxe level anyway.  Don't forget the Rush Hour disk becomes the play disk.

To use most of the lots on the STEX you will need both upgrades from the EA site or from SC4D to bring your exe to build level 640.

Did you download all the dependencies for it? If you didn't, then that might be why it's showing up as a box.

Not sure what you mean by dependentcies, each folder I downloaded had 3-4 files in them.

I'm thinking of buying "The Sim City Box", anyone have this or tried it?  If so, how do you like it?

Dependencies are other things on the STEX that that building relies on to work right. Usually the uploader includes links to his dependencies. Read the description to see if there are any.

And the SimCity Box is irrelevant.
