Police data view crimes bug in deluxe version of Simcity4

When I had the plain sim city 4 version I could see the flasher, the pie thrower, the bag snatching etc but when I purchased the deluxe version & upgraded it, I put my old cities from plain simcity4 version into the deluxe version > the police data doesn’t work. Now I’m thinking maybe this is why my config.bmp picture went missing from my region as well. Anyway I’m not sure if all deluxe versions you can’t actually see the crime taking place etc. Sure I go to the area data view says there is a problem & its highlighted yellow & a police helicopter is shining its light on an empty space in the street where a flasher etc is supposed to be but no automata on this! If I put a police station there it removes the yellow highlight but I’d like to see the Sims do the crime as I did with my original version.

 

Also I have another police bug in that if I max out my payments to them i.e. give them cushy gloves etc for their workplaces etc suddenly all crime goes up & my alterations do the opposite of what I wanted & my settings go right down to 0 & I have to keep adjusting them back to the middle desired area each time.

 

Another police problem {but this is a mod now}, I can’t find the strong cop car mod anymore. I’m sick of the fast police vehicle {vehicles prop3 dat} as that is way too fast & keeps crashing so I need it to be as strong as a tank so I can just put my foot down on the streets with the siren on & if anyone’s dumb enough to stand in my way they get knocked out of the road.

First, please edit your page and check the box "Do not parse emoticons".  Your HTML editor put things in the site HTML guy hasn't arrived at yet.  This will eliminate all those false emoticons.

I haven't played the old version in ages andt I don't remember the police dramas.

One thing I do recommend is the modd "Crimedoesntpay" which fixes the weak-kneed version of the police.

Well that’s what’s bugging me: there have never been any crimes that I can see like bag snatching fighting spray painting pie throwing like I saw on my original version is there a patch I can use for the police data so the sims do what they're suppose to do. On Cities 2008 you can clearly see the fighting & slapping between say the fringes vs the blue collars which incidentally are the same characters on sim city. I’ve also noticed the radical chicks too.  I realize this is not as detailed as cities 2008 but id like to at least see what the data says otherwise its useless yellow highlights.

The max out payments problem was sorted by the plugins problem. So now it’s just the police data view that is still the problem. I remember in my old sim city 4 w/o rush hour I could clearly see the crimes taking place because those icons Sims gifs etc were slightly larger than the other Sims & so they stood well out from the crowd. For god sake doesn’t anyone know what I mean? Are my personal 2 cd disks at fault? I mean I can see the drive-ins, the nude swimmer in golf course the people screaming & running form radiation & even woodland animals now that weren’t in the original SimCity 4 when I started playing the mayor game from god mode. I could be wrong but it seems that now the bug is that the crimes may be there but only for a couple of seconds b4 disappearing thus maybe I need ultra or high automata for traffic & people II wonder what peoples settings are visually for this to work. I’m also using 1024 X 628 to view it even though I should use 1600 X 900 although sc4 doesn’t provide that option but larger resolutions. I only have shadows on low rez, everything else is on high including cars & Sims. Is there a patch or something where someone can make these crimes occur like visual automata manually if my version omits it?? Please???

This sounds like the Phantom Slider Bug. Did you install any custom police lots after using other police lots in the city? You can read more about it and how to fix it here. Not sure if any custom police lots might be causing your other issues, but it could be something to check...

Check your visual effects settings and see if its on low. That might be why you dont see the crimes.

 well the slider bug is what happens to me on the police rather than hospitals. I believe if i install say the crime doesnt pay mod or some other plugin. i removed my plugins contents & installing them all from the internet downloads again one by one: tedious but so far i've had no crashes or slider bugs. This may have been caused by me changing from the old simcity4 to deluxe version thats the main thing or maybe since I'm not playing with a config.bmp which may screw things up for me. 

 

Not being able to see the crimes is a real crime as I loved that aspect in the old simcity 4 me & my friend played until i bought the deluxe version. Can you see the car theft robber the toilet paper thrower the flasher the pie thrower etc & do you have deluxe version what cpu are you running. I wish i had the 3 mhts one core processor instead of 2. 4 whatever on duel core simply because I wouldn't use any other background programs whilst playing. & yes I'm on the highest settings now & still nothing!

However I do see the prisoners running away from the prison though & cops chasing them & putting them in car but thats not related to the police data view thats hightlighted in yellow rather thats because i can hear when it happens by the siren that goes off in the jail.  Ive even  set fir to the jail & let it over flow of prisoners & warned that they are escaping but unless i have the actual jail present I cant see the prisoners anymore they are gone just like when i hear gunshots go off around the airport which is showing red glow & i'm right there on the red rectangle with all the deluxe choppers shining their light on the side of the road with some invisible man apparently with a gun that i can hear. HMM do you have this problem???

 I changed my settings to high & on 1200 X i think 1024 etc.  still no crimes seen to be entertained by.  That was the best part of the old sim city 4 & they stuffed that up on my new deluxe disc!!1

 Since changing all my views to highest rez & shadows etc I can see certain crimes but they are like only for a few seconds & still dont linger like they did with the persistent automata that the original simcity version had is there a persistent automata for sims as well as cars so we dont see sims disappearing too quick either?? Ive also seen pie throwing about 3 seconds the 2 tall guys will long arms & a spray painter with someone just dumping some paint on the side walk, yeah really big crimes & i'm not even sure if that was the crime.. however the flasher is unmistakable.

Hey brother I have been working on that very problem too. I have seen most crimes but like u said they only last a few seconds. Their long gone before the cops get there. I have been tinkering with the sc1.dat file but nothing I have done makes any difference. Your right it is annoying. I did make a recent discover bout riots though. next time u have one, block 1 end of the street with the cops and drive a fire truck to the other end and in UDI mode hose the rioters with water and watch them scatter.
