Dependencies

I am new to SimCity 4 and I am learning a lot from this community. Well I got another issue maybe you guys can help me out again. I have downloaded a few lots and all I get is the lot with a brown box in it. One of the lots is Bionic Fusion Power Plant - V2 all I get in this download is a lot with no buildings and a brown box. How can I fix this so I can download  this lot and the other lots I would like to have without them being an empty lot with a brown box?????   THanks

You need to pay close attention to the descriptions, as that a good one will include links to dependencies. Go to every lot you have issues, and re-read the descriptions for links.

Well, if you cannot find links on the uploads to dependencies, then you need to consider taking out the issued lots. Also, read the readme that should be included, as that should include some important info itself.

The Bionic Fusion Power Plant has nine dependencies all listed (with links) at the bottom of the Description, all you have to do is click on each link and install the dependency to your plugins folder this should give you the missing building and get rid of the brown boxes that are showing up, you will find as you install dependencies that the number of brown boxes should start going down as most LOT creaters tend to use the same dependencies and you only have to install it once to your plugin folder for it to used by the different LOTs that use it.

Thanks for the detailed explanation Cathy. The dependencies are listed (if the upload is a decent and well done upload, it will) there, and they have to, unless they are included. Please, you need to read the ENTIRE description, not just the first two sentences. If you do it right, you should have no boxes, but if you do it wrong, you'll know.

Most dependencies come with installation instructions, which are simple too. Please, just don't fly through descriptions, they are there for a reason. Things here take time, and sometimes a lot of reading. Please, read the entire description, and hopefully you'll fix your dependency issue.
