Does the North American, PC, CDrom version of:
Sim City 4: Deluxe edition
Have the evil SecuROM or not?
I think it’s old enough it doesn’t have it, but I want to make sure.

It really sucks it’s gotten to point where I have to look up every new game for malware before I install it.

Thanks.

To the OP: if you are concerned about the disc having copy protection on it that may harm your pc, or you want to be able to play the game disc free and you havent bought it yet, I suggest you look at getting the Steam version.  you will be able to install it on any machine you are logged in to with steam. Possibly even a mac, if EA let them.

Thanks guys for the info, That’s good news now I can play it.  : )

I already bought it, for $2.50 at a garage sale.

I could care less about not having to use a disk that's been in practice since beginning of the CD rom gaming age, and it doesn't bother me.

I just don't want to install anything with securom because I don't want it messing up my computer.

One thing I recommend with regards to game copy protection is Sandboxie (www.sandboxie.com). Simply installing a game in a sandbox keeps the copy protection from infecting Windows. I've tested both SafeDisc and SecuROM and they both work in a sandbox just find (note that this isn't always true; Tages, for example, doesn't play nice with sandboxie and requires extra work to get the game running).

That's good to know, I've known about that program but I didn't think to use it for keeping secuRom off my PC.

    Kudos to you! 4.gif
