SimCity won't launch

 Hello all.

I am starting this topic because I installed Deluxe Edition on my pc many times.

Stats:

HP Pavilion Windows XP SP3

AMD Athlon 64X2 dual Core Processor 3800+

 1GHz 

 1GB RAM

 NVIDIA GeForce 6150 Le

 DirectX2010

 16x Speed CD/DVD-ROM Drive

I have tried shortcuts, clicking on the actual .exe file, also, it's NOT a cracked version of this game. the splashbox will not even attempt to show up. the discs are not damaged in any way. Now I can't even update the game with the official patches!

What's going on!?!

What is DirectX2010? I've never heard of that.. SC4 works best under 9.0c or earlier, but I doubt that is your problem. Do you have a properly functioning SOUND CARD? One is required for SC4 to work.

Also I believe you must start it to fit your video layout.. try opening it with a window (put a -w at the end of your shortcut) just to try to bypass that issue.. it may look funny, but you can solve that later.. just getting it to start is the goal. Does it complete the INSTALL process? or no?

Mmm. No nothing will attempt to work, as I said before. Yes, the game installed properly, also the sound card settings are default.
