ffice:smarttags" name="City">ffice:smarttags" name="country-region">ffice:smarttags" name="place">ffice:smarttags" name="metricconverter">Hi all,

I have started to use RHW and I have some troubles with exit ramps. I guess I’m missing something, but I don’t know what. So, my problem is that I can’t put exit some ramps from highways. Exactly, I’m trying to make a simple diamond junction between a RWH-4 and a road. I can deploy the entrance ramp to the highway, an A ramp, on the left side of the highway. But I can’t put an A-type ramp on the right side, for exit. I can put a B, C or D, but not A, neither default nor inside. Even though I can build a A-type ramp by draggable means, it still can’t connect with MIS ground to elevated transition piece. But I can drag it on the left side and it connects to the piece!

Here there is a picture of what I'm explaining:

The same happens with an elevated RHW-4. I can build the entrance to the highway on the left side, but not the exit on the right side.>3.gif>

I have already removed all plugins and reinstalled last version of NAM and RHW 4.0 in proper order, and started some tries in a lace w:st="on">new city3.giflace>. So, what I’m doing wrong? Thanks in advance.>3.gif>

First, be sure you don't have a starter piece near the place you are trying to plop the pieces.

Second, if using the exit/entrance pieces, you  may need to bulldoze part of the RHW4 and place the piece first. Some (and type A may be one - if I remember correctly) won't plop on top of the RHW.

You may have to use an MIS filler piece to connect the MIS to the ramps if they don't automatically connect.

Hope this helps...

Thank you very much. It has worked like a charm, both bulldozing part of the RHW4 or using a filler piece. However, I still don't know how to connect exit ramps from elevated highway to road. Is there another filler piece? Where it is? Because I can't find it.

Here is a picture of that I'm talking about:

And sorry for those smilies in my previous message. I don't know where they come from.

You're using the starterless pieces. For the ERHW x Road interchange you need 1 side per half that has a starter.

This is the method I generally use:

    1. Draw your base road and RHW

    2. Place a GMIS-1 to EMIS-1 WITH Starter piece, one per half.

    3. Draw MIS to intersect with road and go past by ONE tile.

    4. Place GMIS-1 to EMIS-1 WITHOUT Starter piece, one per half. (alternately, you may use another WITH starter piece, you'll just end up extending the interchange another tile)

    5. Place ERHW-4 A Ramps

As for your RHW x ERoad intersection, its somewhat similar.

    1. Place your base road and RHW, including the ERoad x EMIS pieces.

    2. Take the RHW tool and draw out about 7 tiles on both sides on both halves.

    3. Place the GMIS-1 to EMIS-1 WITHOUT Starter piece on top of the drawn RHW, on both sides and both halves.

Left is what you should have, right is what was there before plopping the piece.

    4. Demolish the RHW that sticks out on the GMIS-1 side BUT leave 1 tile.

    5. Draw your RHW-4 Type A ramp or use a RHW-4 Type C ramp.

I'll try and get pics in a moment.

     Done

I don't know what to put here anymore.

Thanks for your detailed explanation, Blue Lightning. Now I understand how it works.

I was having the same problem, so I also want to say thanks. I was really frustrated. With what I learned on this post, I was able to make this!...
