    Update

I know this will be kinda late...but Holiday Greetings! 3.gif I hope everyone's Christmas was great and had a wonderful year. Cheers to another! This is just going to be a little update, I'll get to the serious one next(and it should be soon2.gif).

    3028dav.jpg

From Uptown/Midtown, we barely see the skate rink and large Christmass Tree in the Rockehtfellow Center plaza wich helps shed some light on a normally shadowed area.

    16h6x6d.jpg

A just for fun show of an area up in North Branhattan, where a condo towers above the grey streets.

    qs06xc.jpg

Another night shot up close back in Central Branhattan in the Central Business District, where a hotel was recently constructed. The Amthaak Hotel & Suites of Financial Branhattn stands slightly below the neon tower of Cockatoo's BirdBrain Consulting LLC.

Thats this update for now, enjoy the new year everyone! I should have the main update soon!19.gif

    Update

Interview from BP'sBS(Branhattan Public's Broadcasting Services) Mayor Brando

BP'sBS- ...while on the subject of economy, Mr Brando, would you care to comment on the city's current economic status with the rest of the Province and the Country?

Mayor Brando- Certainly. To put it simply, the economy always had consisted of primarily industry, mining, and oil, and so far has continued such a pattern. Tourism greatly boosted it, recent immigrants boosted it, and lastly more oil wells boosted it. Free Trade has always been a thing with Prosperous, and our fair country benifited alot from Yorksianna. Most of the cities in the Rapidas Parish are the closest to Sofouran Bay, which is where most of our Country's off-shore rigs are at, are the busiest and most economically successful. I also think we benefited from our ports shipping the oil from country to country. Our Province is mainly and oil/natural gas-producing Province as well as a large sea food source. Can't forget that seafood. The rest of the Country is where the other natural resources are found, helping keep Prosperous's name true, eh? But, lately, Real Estate had been slightly a problem. But not that much. I guess that's not the most scientific way to say it but we're good. Trade from other countries and there businesses coming over seas to our country helped us out a lot as well if you think about it. 1647l1.jpg

Part of the WTC with a Ped. Bridge connecting to one of Branhattan's foreign Bank HQs.

BP'sBS- Interesting. I'm assuming that can answer our question generally about the future.

Mayor Brando- I tend to babble and rant...helps in political debates sometimes.

BP'sBS- Ha ha, I guess it does. Since your here we also wanted to talk about the "Wasted Development" term you coined speaking about some of Branhattan's development, can we be informed more about that?

Mayor Brando- Well, lately I've noticed that some buildings spending a lot of time and investors money, only to become poorly managed or just left unused and becomes a city eyesore. It bothers me that this happens; we're still making money but we still shouldn't waste what we got. Real Estate, many say it's about location, but my opinion that shouldn't exactly matter. What should matter is if its beneficial for everyone. Rather than abandoning because of desirability or a developer's poor choice of location. In the end, it just wastes time, money, and space.

BP'sBS- Do you think there's any way to help with these situations?

    2q3c3mt.jpg

A neighborhood with buildings suffering debillitation.

Mayor Brando- Well, I think it's more of a matter of the people the buildings are to be rented to or used by. People's preference and taste. It shouldn't be all about location, except when the location is next to a landfill though...or a nuclear power plant.  But usually it's just that people are like "Oh, I don't like this neighborhood." or "It looks ugly." and other rants. The entire city has great health coverage, schools are always near by, police stations are around every other corner, fire departments are always on standby, parks are a short walk or bus ride away, and there's always mass transit that everyone has access to. So it's just really peoples tastes and materialism.

BP'sBS- So what eventually happens to the buildings from wasted development?

Mayor Brando- They are usally torn down and replaced with something else or just stand there forever being a waste of space. So I'm trying to convince some local companies and get our local government to revitalize most of the unused or debilitated structures and turn them into something that can be used. Anyone could of thought of it, just didn't...which surprises me. Like, turning some of these things into a gym or a indoor park and the like. Anything useful or beneficial.

    ldus5.jpg

The Central Business Distric, with all of its skyscrapers.

BP'sBS- Now what's your opinion on Branhattan's "two Downtowns", CBD and Uptown? Do you think Uptown would someday overwhelm CBD and take its business title? Especially with Bourbon Square a walk away.

Mayor Brando- Lot's of cities have two downtowns. Uptown isn't much special. The Billboard District is it's own neighborhood with nothing but shopping, and uptown just has the Empire Province Building and the Chrystal Building. There's not much competion nor would it really matter. Same city.

    2nvb15.jpg

Tall buildings of Uptown surrounding Bourbon Square.

BP'sBS- True, true, to be blunt I guess. Any thoughts on Branhattan's current skyline? Anything new that could rival some of Branhattan's current tallest?

Mayor Brando- There's a lot of new buildings in Branhattan. I really love seeing new stuff. But as far as I know, nothing to really rival the tallest ones. Shouldn't be anything in other cities either. We kinda have everything don't we? "Largest City", "Tallest Building", ect.

    2isdv1j.jpg

St. Ringo's church near the CBD. Famous for the Pastor Mckenzie and Eleanor Rigy scandal. The church was never the same. The two are now happily married.

BP'sBS- Any thoughts on the environment of Branhattan?

Mayor Brando- Very urban, and always busy traffic. Even with the amounts of parks, car emission is still a problem in the busiest areas. But Branhattan's air is breathable I assure you. Which is why most Dirty Industry has a high tax on them for the smokestacks and dumping in landfills. It's always been like that in Branhattan for years. For now, I don't plan on changing it. Manufacturing and High Tech thrives. Manufacturing doesn't pollute as much and gets us our stuff. High Tech businesses makes some nice stuff...at least they don'd do that bad as Dot Coms. Any way, Garbage...less of a problem, one of the largest recycling centers is in the Province, most trash gets shipped there...so really you just gotta put up with the smell when a truck or barge goes by. It's tolerable though.

-End of Portion of the Interview

A barge is pushed carrying trash down the Grississippi River beneah Water Gate Bridge.

And that concludes this update. More to come!

Sneak peek of Gnarle, a large city east of Branhattan with one of the largest ports in the parish. It's also known for its strong navy presence here too.

    Update

Gnarle, a large city little farther east of Branhattan at Sofouran Bay. Home to off-shore oil rigs, ports, factories, and some of the Prosperous Navy. Like most areas close to the sea, the navy makes its presence known. A detriment to the morale of foreign trading ships, but they come anyway, and foreign trade continues. The Prosperous Military and Navy tend to have high prensence around major oil or other resource areas. Air forces as well.

Very nice port and industrial area. Especially love your oil rig, but as i know usually rigs build far from seashores. It looks cool anyway.

Keep up the good work my friend.

Schulmanator- Thank you, ports are serious business.
Norby(ToG)- Thank you my friend, I appreciate that. I actually would have had the oil rig out farther(without the powerpoles nearby 3.gif) with a ship passing by but the lot needed power and I didn't want to stick it out that far with a long line of power poles out to it...so that was the result. 1.gif

Benedict- I like grimme ports too.4.gif SOMY made that oil rig, there's a few more on the STEX that all got my attention too.

Aaron- It's okay! I miss updates from other CJ's too...3.gif And yes, military presence helps with such ideas with enemies stealing anything. 9.gif

wwetom1- Thanks. I love PEG's stuff. Took me a few months when I first started Simtropolis to get used to all the dependencies though.17.gifExtremely worth it in the end.

The Duke- Thanks Dukester. 29.gif We all can enjoy Peg's stuff!

    Update

I have more pics to showcase of Branhattan, now we left Gnarle to the main city-

    2qbszfm.jpg
The Prosperous Customs House & Office of Foreign Affairs (PCH&OFA) down town midst all the highrises of the CBD. One of the beautiful Beaux-Arts Buildings that are lost within the skyline, the PCH&OFA is an architecture lover's paradise. From its stunning exterior to its beautiful interior, its a sight not to be missed.

    2la6i9t.jpg

Up north from that area, we find a train passing above traffic. Elevated Rail is only seen in northern and eastern areas of Branhattan than western and central areas.

    fvvh2.jpg

A fraction of the CBD and its tall towering glory.

    351by1l.jpg

Another architecture colliding portion of the CBD.

    alkwzk.jpg

Architecture collisions are an everyday thing and a common sight any where. Here, a gap between a skyscraper canyon thank to an open plaza unhides the back of an art-deco building with a poster advertising condos.

    xpc95f.jpg

Don't hurt your eyes staring at pretty lights.

    That concludes this update.10.gif

Benedict- Thank you friend, I really appreciate that. :D

Geometry- Hey there. The WTC is infact the tallest buildings in my city so far. There's no buildings taller within the city, or outside of the city so far. Thanks for you question. :)

Now I do have an update for you all and everyone else-

    UPDATE

A part of the historic Industrial District and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Last but not least, outside of Branhattan in the Northern city of Terramore, is the ancient Terramore Castle. The former capital of the city when Terramore was once a independent City-State along with several other cities in the Yorksianna Province before the nation of Prosperous was complete.

    Hope you enjoyed this update!
