Main Menue Issues

Alright so I purchased cities XL off of Steam, and when I installed it the game there are some buttons missing on the main menu, for example there is an empty gap beneath the tutorial button as well as one beneath the go to website button. Also there is no play button! Now at first I just figured this was because I hadnt run through the tutorials so I did that and still no play button. At that point I attempted to contact the developers of Cities XL but that fell flat when I discovered that they went bankrupt. So I came here, hoping that you guys could help me and that I didnt waste a good 40 bucks.

Have you installed the latest patch for Cities XL? Far as I know, you'll need this before you can play Solo.

If not, I'm sure another member will shortly answer for you, but that's my idea.

Unless theres an extra patch that I missed my copy of the game is fully up to date (at least thats what it tells me when I try to patch it). I will try the solo patch and see if it will let me patch it in.

yeah still doesnt work, and when I tried to patch it the program just told me that it was already up to date.

what version does it say at the sign in screen?

do you have normal or limited edition?

have you made the avatar yet?

I have the regular edition, and on the sign in screen it says version 1.1.0457

How do you make the avatar?

i don't think i've ever seen another issue like this before. it's possible that some of the files were corrupted on install. Have you tried uninstall/reinstall? And can you take a screenshot of the mainscreen to which you're referring?

The left picture is what I see with the main mods (unlocker and sandbox)

The right picture is what I see without any mods - just the 427 update.

Ive tried reinstalling it as well as re-patching it.

All I see is what you have on the right, minus the play button. I still have Tutorial, go to website, options, and quit.

This is made all the more frustrating by the fact that MC went bankrupt and arent supporting their help lines anymore.

I was having the same prob till 5 mins ago.Do this mate:

1.Unistall the game.

2.Install it.

3.At the start of the game when u are asked if u want to do the tutorial say yes.

4.About at the end of the first chapter u should choose if u want to continue the tutorial or play.
