Reinstall Issues

I Bought Cities XL last year and installed it, worked fine.

But recently i "accidentely" deleted a file and the game would crash every time i loaded a map.

So i backed up my saved maps and reinstalled the game. I then tried to run it so i could register it and

Whop-de-do, Monte cristo doesent exist anymore and niether does the Cities XL website.

So... I cant register my game and therefore run it in solo mode.

Now What?

EDIT: I downloaded a patch and its all working now

Put in your old user name and password (as long as it isn't from the beta) and it should work fine...I actually just did this today. Be sure you have the latest patch which you can find at www2.citiesxl.com or the game WILL NOT work!

I did this but my old log in name doesn't work anymore.

To reactivate your account just go log into the cities XL website. It may say incorrect but then do it again and your account starts working and you can start playing Cities XL.

thanks MasterBuilder i couldnt load the website for a while though, prob just my internet connection though game works fine now and all my save data is still there

I did exactly this after I reinstalled, but I still can't login (with the busses solo patch) with my old username and password. 

I sent support about this and they acknowledged that I had the right username and only asked me if I was using the right old password.

So heads up if you plan to reinstall or reformat you're computer, after installing the game again with patch, the server may not recognize you're user name and pass like it has done for me.

I am still waiting on supports reply after I confirmed to them that I can login to the website but not the game with the same password and username I always used before.

man i cant believe all the issues with the new cities xl games these past 2 months

Actually this was just resolved sorry.

All that happened was I had requested a new password and was trying to log in to play game with the password they sent me.

But the pass they sent me was only meant to log into the site to reset my password.  Once I reset my password I was able to log in to play the game.  It had me stumped for a while though.

Good to hear that, and regarding the issues with MC, these issues are probably coming up at a good time. We can ask questions reagarding common issues with CXL and wonder if they will prosper in CXL 2011. Some of the things I have posted are things that i have slowly come to see. I have only had this game for about a month, so I think that these issues bring up questions for Focus. Will CXL 2011 have resolved issues found in CXL? Is the game completely new, or is it a modified CXL that is updated and all? As of the recent pop of issues, I think its more that I have bought the game, and am trying to ask questions that can help me and others, as well as that we want to bring up things that we are wondering will persist and prosper to make a big problem in '2011.
