Lot Editor for Mac

Hi,

I have downloaded Lot Editor from Zelgadis' website and I added it to the Applications/SimCity4/SimCity4 Data/Plugins folder but the file is using .exe which doesn't work on Mac... Does somebody know how to use Lot Editor or what application to use cause the file currently uses TextEdit, which doesn't work...

.exe files CANNOT function on a PPC (non intel) mac. .exe installers (used for plugins), can be opened on a PPC mac using filejuicer, but .exe applications (such as the LE), are completely useless. Unfortunately there is no way, that I'm aware of, of gaining LE capabilities on a PPC mac.

IF by chance you have an intel mac however, you have lots of options, from just using an emulation of windows for LE purposes to having a complete windows installation in a separate partition (which would allow you to run the PC version of SC4 which is a lot smoother product).

For old, PPC based Macs, there is the program Virtual PC that could be used as the program name suggests, as a PC to run PC programs.

ah yes, of course; thanks HDH. Virtual PC can be a pain though, but for non-intensive use like the LE it should work OK. You wouldn't be able to run SC4 using it though.

Would it work if you ran your Mac in PC mode through BootCamp?

ogauge: yes, through bootcamp you install a full version of windows (not an emulation), so anything that will work on a PC will work on it (LE, gmax, B.A.T, SC4, you name it)
