Glad to see you're so enthusiastic about it Brutalizer... I'll finish it with some details (rainpipes etc) and export it...

I just need to find some time when I don't need my computer for some hours (a draft export takes about 30 minutes) or run it at night 3.gif

    ETA: Wednesday! (I hope)

The booktower is on the STEX...

I would like to thank everybody that have helped me with the BAT!

I've found the first design of my booktower... I tought it would be funny to compare the first design with the final result:

A Definite impovement, I have to say 9.gif

Also, I've noticed that you've added the "Sint-Pietersstation" to you to do list. I live very close to the station (7-ish minutes walking), so if you want me to take pictures of the station just tell me, ok?

And now, I'll download the "Boekentoren" 9.gif

    @WC_EEND: I know... what was I thinking... 3.gif

I've already begun with collecting pictures for my next project...

I'm not going to tell wich building I'm going to BAT next but it's a big project (it's going to be a nice surprise I hope) 2.gif

So my thread will be silent for a while untill I have made some serious progress.

    And here it is:

    gent_belfort.jpg

There are still a lot of details to complete... And then I have to BAT the building in front, But now you have an idea on my next project 2.gif

PS: the golden thing on top of the tower is the dragon-shaped lightning rod:

that looks an awful lot like the Belfry of Ghent, and as a first render, it looks simply great.

@Xander: It is the Belfry of Ghent... nice call!

@Fabricio: The top is indeed too stretched out... I'll adjust it when I added the next details (the statues at the balcony-level).

dunno if it is about the quality of the render or not, but the textures, specially the stone wall textures looks a bit grainy. more, the model I think could be wider, is a bit thin compared to the real think, at least from the photo you provided. last thing, the stone relief on the side walls are too high, maybe less would be better. for the rest, I think is pretty good 4.gif

@Gn_leugim: the texture isn't defenitive yet and it's a draft render (see below for a more detailed pic)... but it's also a quick texture from a photograph to get a general idea. After finishing all the details I'll use Photosop to design a texture that fits the bat. The same for the roof

The tower in total is too tall but that's something I learned while building the Booktower... I'll export a draft soon and see how it looks in the game (my Booktower is 200% taller than the real one).

    Thanks for the comments

it looks really nice, but I agree with Gn_leugim. The tower looks much wider on that real life picture on the previous page. This also makes the clock look more like an oval. Maybe scale it down to about 150% or even 130%. Good luck2.gif Ziet er echt goed uit!

the width should be OK... the tower is 4 roof-windows (sorry, don't know the english name but it's "dakkapellen" in Dutch) wide... just as in the BAT...

The tower is 1/3th of the Lakenhalle...
