I've seen some videos from Sim City... how do those get filmed? Is there an in-game camera?

Or you can just hit control-X then type recorder. A lot easier and no hassle or worry about downloading programs that may have viruses

 You can also get fraps at  www.fraps.com No spyware or viruses.  Very simple to use.  Takes video full or half size.  It can also take screenshots and store them in a folder you choose.  You can also do time lapse videos with it as it can take screenshots every "x" amount of seconds (you choose interval)

Yeah I've uploaded quite a few videos to YouTube..

You can upload them as they are, but it's better to compress them to wmv using sony vegas or window's built-in movie maker. I use fraps to record videos in SimCity 4, but I always compress them to 1080p.

Another suggestion for video recording is Taksi.  It is open source.

The in-game recorder appears to work, but the moment I saw the various frames being saved as separate files was the moment I started looking for a better recording solution.
