Hey there,

I'm new here. Addicted to Sim City 4 again  and amazed by this huge site :-) I've been clicking through hundreds of downloads but i didn't find the tool i've searched. I search a tool where i can build real canals where ships are able to swim. I found a additional god mode tool with a near function but it makes just one big straight hole. I need a tool which builds straight borderlines but the given god mode only owns this circle structure. It takes hours to build it the way i want it.

Maybe anyone could help? Would be so cool.

Thanks a lot!

To help you out, I need to know one thing: is this "near function which makes just one big hole" a hole digging lot? If so, I guess you have to do it with that mod. It's a great mod, and if used with the "setsealevel" cheat, you can make canals with it, which will let boats pass.

To open the cheat bar, press Control + X. Then, after it opened, put in "setsealevel" (without the quotation marks), hit one spacebar, and then type a number between 1 and 200. This will obvisously "set the sea level", and in this case it will lower the water level, so you can use the hole diggers on "the new land".

One drawback, it will destroy tunnels and bridges you have in the city, and I mostly saw NAM-puzzle pieces break too when I used it. So be carefull, and save before using.

When you have used the hole diggers, and have the ground on the right depth, you will have two options: Either use the street (or road) tool and level the terrain by clicking on all single tiles you want to change to height, or use the god mode equallizing tool. Both ways, though, will cost you money.

    hey :-)

    thanks for your response.

the "near function" i ment was the additonal god mode "sinkpipehole" but the hole it makes is too big. I tried it with this hole dig-sea level thing but it takes long as well and doesn't turn out the way i want it.

    I should lookl like this

    No problem, HerrEichhor.

On the picture you can see straight sections of SC4 water. This will most likely be the result of the hole-digging lots method. Yes, it is time-consuming, but if I need such canal, I do it that way.

Anyway, I would like to recommend the use of the "No Bridge Height Mod" (or something like that). It removes the difference in height needed to make bridges. These will prevent you to make cliffs instead of actual canals.

Also, you could make beautifull canals with lots that have props that overhang into the water. There are more of these on the STEX.
