Technical bug? Public transport shut down

Hi,

My first post, new to this great although perhaps somewhat confusing forum. Not sure whether this post should be here, hope it's ok.

My problem:

Last time I saved my city of 130 thousand sims as usual. Just now I opened the city to continue playing. The traffic map went all red on me. I queried one of the rail stations and saw that the information was displayed differently, see the attached picture for an example. All the public transport stations are displayed like this. Funding is normal, the system still costs money, and I fast forwarded but nothing changed. If you know what's going on here, please let me know! I just made a masterplan for this city and it would be a big shame if I have to start from scratch again!!

Please help!!

You may have put a modified version of one of your stations in your plugins that modified one already there. This will lead to the "phantom slider bug". If you do a search on this you will find how to find and correct it (finding it is the important part first.. have you installed a modified station in the recent past?)

Thanx for responding! I have never added any modified buildings. I play the game every once in a while, never long enough for an extensive search for extras. What I should have mentioned btw, is that I play Simcity 4, without the Rush Hour expansion. What I have done is wrongly installed the NAM Traffic Subsystem. I found out it wouldn't work after installing it... But my other (smaller) cities do not have this public transport lock-down problem.

It might be a lack of RAM memory (just the 1 GB on my laptop). But I've built bigger cities without problems before.

Oh, and when I build a new station/substation/bus stop, it does work. I could replace all the existing stations, but with a city this big, I might go bankrupt.. So any other suggestion would be very welcome.

I doubt your 1G memory is your problem (though it may be at some point in time.. SC4 is actually pretty forgiving of memory as long as you aren't rediculously small). If you have planned poorly you might use one of the money cheats to get you "over the hump" and then you can stop after you stabilize your city.
