Residential Zone Merging

hey,

I hope this is the right place to ask this...

Does a mod exist that prevents residential zones from merging? It bugs me when smaller res combine to form a 3x3 mansion. I know I can make the smaller res historic BUT doing that manually while I build a city is extremely tedious!

SO is there a mod? And one that is limited only to residential zones? (I still want commercial zones to merge)

thanks

I'm not sure but I've never heard of such a thing... I would greatly appreciate it too. However there is a mansion blocker which will go some way to achieving what you're after.

Raise your R$$$ tax to 14-16% and you will have very few mansions popping up, There will only be enough R$$$ residents to fill the needed jobs. I have been using the technique for years and it works amazingly

The Less Abandonment Mod by bones1 can help with your situation. It raises the desirability requirements of wealthier residential buildings so that mansions wont take over most neighborhoods and your cities can better keep low wealth sims. Raising taxes and marking historic are really the only other ways that give you any control over wealth levels and where they develop.

It dose make high density R$$$ much less frequent but you do not need many R$$$ sims in your city anyways. Having tax high like i said above will make it so R$$$ will only pop up (low med or high density) if the jobs are available

Your question was worded a little weird for me...

but what I think you want is maybe you shoud hold Ctrl while your zoning...

It'll make you zone exactly what you want to zone
