Dose any hear play Fallout 3, I was looking at it today and was thinking about buying it, I like the concept of the game, but I don’t really know what the game plays like, I look at some videos and it looks very in-depth, witch can be a good and a bad thing.

Is it a good game?

Yes, i love it. The music is a bit samey but otherwise its good, and the best quick way i can describe it is GTA in a apocalyptic wasteland. I would reccomend the game of the year edit if you dont know someone with the extra disk as paying about £30 for the extras( or it would have been for me) is a bit steep.

It can be quite hard to grasp and my main suggestion is save your ammo if you do get it. But it is worth it when you get the hang of it, at least i think so. There is a definate RPG element and that i love, and the sheer freedom and madness of some things in the game are brilliant. Once you play it it will draw you in with its sheer beauty and scale, and once you have got confident that you will do well then you can raise the difficulty, but i suggest starting on a low difficulty. ( you dont want to find an albino radscorpion straight off, trust me, you will know what one is eventually if you get it.)

My only fault is the occasional crash, although i have only heard that happening on Xbox, and even then not often ( i have 156hrs play and its crashed 1 time). Otherwise dont worry.

hope i helped

Its a fantastic game! There are a lot of different directions to both progress though the story (or not), explore, develop your character/playing style (very much an RPG, but has good FPS elements) and generally enjoy the game. If you have a 360, get it for that. As much as I love PC, this game has given most people nightmares with crashes and just getting it to run (although access to the console is a nice bonus!).

If you like it, then I suggest you get the expansions, they doubled the playability of that game for me. If you are a sucker for the best equipment you can get, that is also a bonus 3.gif This is one of the few games I reinstalled dafter my last re-format.

Fallout 3 is one of the best games I've played in a long time. It is an RPG and an FPS, lots of character development, great open world, it's fun. If you can find a powerful weapon, use it, and conserve ammo by going for headshots, which is easier thanks to the VATS targeting system. it's rare for me to buy ammo because i scavenge it from enemy encampments, or from the bodies after a firefight. Get the game of the year edition with the expansions, Mothership Zeta allows you the get your hands on some serious alien tech. it was fun enough that i will be checking out New Vegas when it lands on store shelves this fall

that said, there are some bugs with the game and it does crash, but it depends on your system, and how old it is, PS3, or 360, you really can't go wrong, and it's a fun game on both

I didn't like the way your character moves around. It is a beautifull landscape though, I am a sucker for post-apocalyptic landscapes. 4.gif

Fallout 3 is my 2nd favourite game (Bioshock takes the lead as I love the feel of Rapture even more than the wasteland!) Don't want to start thinking of how many hours I have spent playing it as I would feel bad... I guess it's just how open the game is to what you want. There are many possibilities as to how the story can progress and what rewards you get. Some of the quests are also quite funny. What also makes it for me is the V.A.T.S system 4.gif

In the UK you can get the GOTY edition now for

Definitely worth it. I don't like RPGs at all, I wasn't a fan of TES: Oblivion (Bethesda's other popular game) but Fallout 3 is simply fantastic, one of my all time favourite games.

Like a couple people already said, it's a love it or hate it game. Personally, I love it! I have played the fallout games since Fallout 2 came out and I will never stop! If you're going to play this game set aside a lot of time to actually play it. I hear complaints about the game all the time that it's too short. That's because people don't do the side missions, they do the storyline missions and call it good.

Cant wait for that! I have actually put down F3 now as I know this is coming out. Just cant play games that are "old" and a follow up is coming out for until I have atleast tried the new one. I guess I'm odd.
