Update 6: The farmers and Bocksburg's agriculture.

    The year 1984

Bocksburg has grown into a big agricultural centre. The farmlands have expanded well, although the town has grown quite a bit too. It has 21.000 inhabitants and New Leopolis has decided to invest in Bocksburg's agriculture. It has build a big - the heighest and biggest - building in the centre of Bocksburg. The Santa Maria Towers are 50 metres tall. High for Bocksburg!

Lumber yard #1 has been shut down. First they wanted a farm to replace it, but a citizen has come up with the great idea of a tree plantation!

    gamescreen0347.jpg

The farms are crawling towards Lumber yard #2...

    The new Santa Maria Towers.

But there's one major problem for now. The more farms there are, the lower the bread prices in Bocksburg so farms may go bankrupt. But now that New Leopolis has invested things are getting less serious - slowly.

Bocksburg is growing fast. So many forests like here..

    May look like this:

    Update 7: Attracting tourists

    The year 1991

Bocksburg has changed rapidly. The mainstreet has had a total makeover, the North-East forests have been cut down till the last tree, so Lumber yard #2 has been shut down. After a petition of the citizens in Bocksburg, the council decided to stop cutting down the forests at the other sides for atleast 10 years.

Bocksburg now has a total different look! Two chuches now dominate the "Skyline" of Bocksburg, so it now looks very different.

    Welcome to Bocksburg

Bocksburg is getting more lively at night, too. Not very common for a town with 20.000 inhabitants.

A perfect mix of tourism, industry, and farming set somewhere in the mountains..... Reminds me of some small towns I saw in Slovakia out of all places...

Cities like this show just how much variety you can get out of CXL. Bocksburg has that small, quaint Old World feel.

If your city has tourism, you should have a ski resort because the city is next to the snow covered mountains. Also, be sure to include railroad tracks and a train station so, that the city can expand.

    Very Good City!!  44.gif

@ walqui2009: Thanks, but I'll have to wait untill the gems (ski resort etc) are working properly to make it as realistic as possible. Thanks anyway 2.gif

@ supercity : Thank you! I'm sure Bocksburg will have a railroad track in the future 2.gif

    Update 8: Brightwater River

    The year 1994.

The last 3 years have been very wet and warm. The warmest years Bocksburg has ever recorded. The high temperatures are a problem because Bocksburg lies in the middle of a vally between two mountains covered in (melting) snow. The first river formed a year ago. The council doesn't like the river, but the citizens are very happy with it. It offers breathtaking scenes at a couple of places.

    gamescreen0078-1.jpg

    Brightwater River isn't really big.

    gamescreen0081-1.jpg

    gamescreen0079-1.jpg

Many people are afraid that the river will drown the farms, eventually.

    gamescreen0074-1.jpg

But the people living near the river are living in the most beautiful natural scene of Bocksburg.

    gamescreen0077-1.jpg

Though, the city is rapidly expanding towards the river.

    gamescreen0080-1.jpg

More and more people are disagreeing with the council, which is only "liking shiny money".  The council says they do everything to "keep the nature as it is" but the citizens don't believe them anymore. Bocksburg's future seems uncertain.

This was update 8 of Bocksburg. Hope you enjoyed it 2.gif

WOW! Great, magnificent I'm speechless; Bocksburg epitomises the true natural beauty of geographical elements in a city. I love the feel and ambience about the city. It's very soothing and airy. I love your updates, not only see amazing photographs, but great story in depth behind it. One question was the river hard to do? People on their journals are really showing what a great game cities xl is. Anyway's, keep up the good work mate and I'l be looking forward to the next update which I'm sure everyone else is 4.gif
