Installing on vista 32 bit

i have a problem

When installing the game,after putting in the second disk,it shows

"a problem occurred when trying to transfer the file 'E:\SimCity_3.dat' from the media"

can anyone help, tell me where the file goes???please!!!

if no one can help, i would like to do it from scratch but i don't know the file path!!!!HELP!!!

Reading your message, im rather confused in what your stuck with. the second disk doesnt install or?

It could be that your disk is heavily scratched. try transfering all the disk data into a folder on your desktop and installing the game from there. I know that many users have had trouble installing the game on vista and windows 7.

The directory of where the game gets installed is "C:\Program Files (x86)\Maxis\SimCity 4 rushhour".

 i actually have sim city 4 deluxe,so when it tells me to put in the 2nd disk,it installs the first few files until it reaches Simcity_3.dat file

then it tells me to retry or cancel,if i cancel,the files that were installed,they will be removed.so i don't know what to do hehe

If you have an antivirus running, try disabling it.

try uninstalling the original simcity 4 and reinstall them. Make sure all content is deleted off the HDD including the directories. See if that makes a difference. It might be that your original simcity4 is missing files and therefore the second disk cannot install its content.

On one of my pc i have windows xp and it works properly. When i installed it on my other pc which has vista, it worked normally except the keyboard, just enter and backspace only works. What shall i do?? Thanks.
