Cannot install latest Patch

Hi.

Today I bought Cities XL DVD version. I've tried to install the updates for the patch by downloading it on the Cities XL startup screen, aswell as just downloading it from the internet (neither works) but whenever I do, it says: "Error Decompressing data! Corrupted installer?" When I'm in the middle of installing it.

Now I've tried several things to solve this.

1) Uninstalled and reinstalled Cities XL.

2) Upgraded firmware for my disk drive (don't know if this is relevant but it didn't make a difference to this anyway)

3) Tried downloading the patch more than once, and from different sites.

4) Restarting my computer.

5) On the CXL website it says when that error comes up, to instead use your "Invite a friend to use Cities XL" disc. I used this, made no difference at all.

6) And finally, although I know this isn't relevant to me (just trying anything to make it work), downloaded the patch for steam users, as apparently the patch did not function correctly for those using CXL on steam (even though I'm not).

I'm really at a loss of what to do. Any help would be appreciated, as I did compete in the beta and found the builds there (which are not that much different to the new game) were terrible (hence why I haven't bought the game unitl now, so the patches could come along first) and I do not want to play the game like this (I'm not even sure if it allows you to play it without the patch).

If anyone has any other things I could do to make this work, or any ideas as to why it isn't working, please post in this here thread =)

Its okay, it worked finally, my internet connection was just rubbish yesterday.

 I got the same problem... I tried reinstalling the thing and it tells me I have error 18.... WTF do I do....

revolution, dit you either try running it as administrator? and you have to go to the CXL website and look for the launcher patch as well, or your updates have a 25/75% chance of completing correctly.

I tried the other 4 options that are available... they all failed... is it possible because of crappy internet?

yes... it's happened to me before, try turning off some stuff to make internet folw better
