Switching lanes while in driving mode

 Avenues, one way roads, highways.. They have more lanes, but with a bit luck I'm able to change the lane I'm driving on.. What's the actual way to change lanes? It's pretty hard for me =S.

Just tab left or right arrow (which lane you want to go to) very shortly, then you'll switch lanes.

I already smashed them out of my keyboard (Did I?), but notting happens. Even not on my older computer.
