Good afternoon, all! Today I want to show you New Leopolis. A new town on a different location with happy citizens. It's still a small town, with approximatly 13.000 citizens, but Offices and hightec industry have 'found' New Leopolis and it is growing steadily now. New Leopolis will NOT have industry.

It was a small farm community, but offices soon wanted to settle down in the beautiful nature of New Leopolis. The citizens are living in 'green' housing estates and are happy. Traffic is not a problem.

This is New Leopolis. The town is connected to the city of Rooleyson with the H1. You can see the Bus Company and some medium rise offices/ unskilled appartements.

This is New Leopolis' local farming area.

gamescreen0124.jpg

One of the older parts of New Leopolis. Here most of the Agricultural workers are living.

gamescreen0122.jpg

In the centre of the town are a Middle School and a Clinic located; an elementary school is located in the new housing estates.

gamescreen0125.jpg

On the other side of the H1 a Police and a Fire station are located, to provide the citizen's security.

gamescreen0127.jpg

Here are new Units of High Tech buildings. We're planning to expand it soon.

This is a typical Neighbourhood in New Leopolis.

This was my first entry, this will be a realistic city!

I love how realistic and green the city is --- I myself really dislike the concept of building downtown later on in the game once the city is big already -- that never ever happens in the real world... Sure, you can have modern office parks - but nearly all cities worldwide has grown AROUND an initial downtown / Main Street area. Hub and spoke was the typical pattern of growth when cities grew around tram routes from around 1880 to 1950; later on, suburbs were typically auto-dominated, but the original center of town was always there, irregardless of how important it became.. Anyhow, great little city, and by the way, how did you get buses even though your population is <50k?

PS>I guess the only issues I'd have is the bus terminal located away from the city --- I personally wouldn't want to walk that far from the city center to a bus station.... Unless you plan on building up all that area around the highway interchange.....

I'm planning to build there, besides, there are a number of bus stops in my city so the citizens don't have to walk to the bus depot. It's true about your statements, but most new cities start small, then a CBD will be build later and thén they'll build new suburbs, you know? Anyway thanks for your reply.

To unlock ALL BUILDINGS: Options -> Miscullanious -> Expert mode (Unlock buildings) You'll get everything!

@ Stef: Thanks buddy 4.gif I'm kinda using your way of building as you do in crossroads 2.gif

So you don't have to have the satellite bus station to construct within city limits bus lines --- I thought the main terminal is solely for intercity buses (long-distance) and you would not be able to plan your regular city routes from there???

A new update will follow this evening or tomorrow 2.gif

New Leopolis has grown a lot 9.gif It now has 25.000 citizens and I want it to have a realistic 'picture'. So the new appartement estates will have less trees but still plenty of space.

By the way, are you going to limit density to mid-levels only or are you going to have high-density as well?

PS> When I look at your overall map in your first image, I see that there is only one bigger road running east-west, but all those residential development are connected by very small roads, I'd think your traffic up there could get really bad -- I'd add a small avenue running up north from downtown, maybe on the western periphery of your city??

Hello, here is update 2 of New Leopolis!

Thanks for all the nice comments! Hope my CJ is interesting for you!

    Inhabitants: 35.000!

    Av. Satisfaction: 8.6

New Leopolis has been growing a lot! A complete new district has been added, but is not finished yet. Around the lake is still some undeveloped land, which wil be taken care of soon.

    gamescreen0126.jpg

    gamescreen0130.jpg

While thinking about the future, wide roads have been laid in the centre of the new district going to the High Tech/ Office area. Traffic is not a problem.

    gamescreen0128.jpg

In the new district Leoprole High has been built. Around it a park has been laid so the students can relax during the breaks in the hot sun.

    gamescreen0129.jpg

This is lake Harold. Located on the west of New Leopolis. There are some houses located at the side of the lake. On the other side two tennis courts and a Science Museum have been built.

    gamescreen0127.jpg

    gamescreen0120.jpg

    gamescreen0121.jpg

    gamescreen0123.jpg

    gamescreen0122.jpg

We are busy building a new intersection at the H1!

    gamescreen0124.jpg

Yesterday, a truck accidently toppled over and now a pile of dirt of 2 tons is laying on the road. We'll make the road clean as soon as possible!

    gamescreen0125.jpg

At last: this is what my goal is for New Leopolis.

The picture only shows the Med. and High density houses/ offices, but around thát area also low density houses will be located.

This was my Update, hope you've enjoyed it!

Well actually I saw a tram driving on my highway this afternoon hahahaha. When having the tram mod and choosing the 'normal bus' driving at a line you get the tram 3.gif

Hello, this is update 3 of New Leopolis!

I've been playing alot! New Leopolis now has 132.000 citizens and is growing steadily. Everyone is still very happy although the traffic is getting more and more.

This is an overview of New Leopolis.

    gamescreen0143.jpg

We are currently building a new highway to connect the future suburb with downtown N.L.!

    gamescreen0140.jpg

    gamescreen0141.jpg

Some pictures in a rich part of the suburbs.

    gamescreen0138.jpg

    gamescreen0139.jpg

A view from one of the two skyscrapers in the suburbs towards downtown.

    gamescreen0146.jpg

The Brandenburg Gate has been build next to the highway going to downtown.

    gamescreen0147.jpg

This is downtown! There are not only skyscrapers, and space between the buildings.

    gamescreen0145.jpg

When taking the main highway, you'll notice Downtown Gate Hotel. (If not, drive back and look again)

    gamescreen0144.jpg

This is my plan for this part of New Leopolis.

    gamescreen0148.jpg

This was update 3, hope you've enjoyed it!

See you in the next update, stay tuned.

Images 4 and 5 from this Update #3 remind me quite a bit of Charleston SC....

Nice work, by the way!!!! I wonder how long you can hold on without any industry???? Also, can you post a screenshot of one of your trams?

Thank you for all the nice comments! Will post pictures of the tram in the next update. Still need to organise the lines 2.gif

I think I can survive very long without the industry, if I have enough freight to buy it. I'm currently buying about 12 tokens manufacturing and 10 industry tokens.
