SC4Tools and .sav-files question

This is kind of a beginner's question. I've also tried to locate the "SC4Tools Support Thread", as the readme says it's at Simtropolis, but with no luck.

I changed the properties of some lots with the Exemplar Editor and saved. This caused a .sav-file to appear in the same folder, and with the same name, as the edited lot.

Then I used DatPacker and noticed that all the .sav-files caused a "superseed" message. Now what should I do? Ignore the "superseed" message, or can I safely delete the .sav-files without having the properties jumping back to what they originally were? Or neither..?

Any help appreciated.

You can delete the .sav files, they are just backups of the files in case the SC4Tool encounters a saving error and have no purpose after the file was saved.

I wonder why that question comes up so often - it's clearly stated in the included tutorial:

Settings

Use this dialogue (accessed via Options/Program Setup) to set up your SimCity installation paths and select the modules that should show on startup, and if SC4Tool makes a backup copy of the files that you edit (they have the same name as the original file, but a "sav" extension).

Ok, now I feel even more stupid. I read through the tutorial several times, and I could swear that this wasn't mentioned.. I should have known better, though; Germans never release something only halfway done. 15.gif

Btw, do the SC4Tools Support Thread really exist (at Simtropolis)? The link in the documentation goes nowhere..
