Looking for a developed region

Hey guys

I recently reinstalled SC4 after a couple of years

All my old regions and plugins got lost over the years. The thing is, I have little spare time to enjoy playing SC4. Also I am more a tweak and rebuild kind of guy than to design a city from ground up.

That is why I 'd like to ask fellow SC4 players if someone would be kind enough to share a complete developed region with me. Transfer could be made over something like rapidshare or some other filehoster. I could even provide an FTP server.

So if anyone would be willing to help me out I'd be happy.

Cheers

This actually would be against the site policies as I recall. You can download a few "premade" regions (there is at least TWO available from the original maxis (now EA) site under "downloads") and of course there is a "partially developed" region in the distribution CD (Timbuktu). I know that regional uploads i s not supported by any of the major SC4 sites. A few did that early in the game's history but the problems with that approach was soon dropped. Of course if you find a friend who shares with you I guess that's between you and he.

Personally I'd be loath to take someone else's region.. I like to know what I've got, why I've got it, and how it applies to what I want to do.. perhaps that's just me..

There is one downloadable developed region I know of. It's been built by Wren Weburg and can be found on the SC4ever site.

This region uses no custom content at all, but needs the SC4 Deluxe / Rush Hour version.

Hope this helps 1.gif

I may be incorrect here, but it seems that if you were to send a developed city that uses any custom content, you'd also have to include that custom content (or, at least a huge list of stuff you need to download). I would think that you'd need to send a region folder, along with the region creator's entire plugins folder. I've only just started using SC4 this winter with custom content, and my plugins folder is tipping the 8GB mark at this point. In short - too much to send!

Maybe you can convince (pay) somebody (no, not me) to package all the important folders up in a ZIP, then split it, then burn the files to a few DVDs and physically mail it to you.
