Rush Hour - Region View Display Problems - big white boxes

After I create a new city in an existing region and save the city and go back to the region view, the newly created city will display a whitish-yellow translucent box over its location. The problem has gotten worse as I add more cities within the region. Cannot select the cities behind the boxes anymore.

Have been having this issue for some time. Seems as though the more "stuff" that goes into this region, the worse the issue gets.(see attached screen capture)

Even tried to import the existing cities to other regions. Some cities keep the white boxes at the region view (new region) and some don't. Unfortunately the terrain does not match and city size blocks dont match up, otherwise i might just go that route..

I have dowloaded the patches and installed to no avail.

You need only one of those patches, the one for the region of your game.  You can find which one you need at the simcity.ea.com web site.

Look at the SKU folder where you have the game installed::

    C:\Program Files\Maxis\SimCity 4 Deluxe\Sku_Data\Sku1_US

If you actually installed other than the patch for your game region, you will need to uninstall/install the game.

I had this same problem, after patching SC4 deluxe. It showed up when I upgraded my machine to Windows 7. I'm running Dual ATI Radeon HD 4800 in a crossfire configuration. I found that turning off crossfire made this particular problem go away. ymmv.

Please listen up. This is a legacy game built in 2003. It cannot withstand any newer graphics equipment or modes. It must have straight, no options turn on, VGA graphics.

If you have other stuff that you need at other times, I suggest you create a script to turn things off, run the game, and then turn them back on. This is how I run, from a console and not from the desktop GUI. Works fine.

If you don't know how to do this, enlist your nearest geek, or take a look at the help files. Scripting is pretty easy to learn, especially if you need it.
