Multi Lane RHW with Elevated RHW going over it. Possible?

Hi,

I was wondering if its possible to have a multi lane RHW (say 6 or 8 lanes) in N-S direction with an elevated RHW intersecting it from E-W direction? The elevated puzzle piece has only RHW-4 so was wondering if its something not available.

Also when I use RHW doing roundabouts or entrace/exits ramps and connectivity take a lot of space unlike the Maxi's Highway Cloverleaf or Ramps which save a lot of space.

Is that how it is? How do you guys do the exits and extrance while using RHW but again using smaller space? Any tips and tricks on how to do it?

Thank you.

There currently is no way to have an Elevated RHW cross a ground-level RHW-6, 8 or 10.  That functionality is definitely planned, but it will not be in place until at least RHW Version 4.1 at the earliest.  (Version 4.0 is the next release.)  You can, in the meanwhile, use the OWR-over-RHW or Avenue-over-RHW puzzle pieces as a temporary workaround.

The RHW's capabilities on that end are primarily designed to create interchanges of more or less realistic scale.  There are plans down the road to include some additional pieces and even additional networks that will allow for a bit more compact setups, particularly in the realm of interchanges between two RHWs.

In the meanwhile, if you're creative, you can usually do a pretty good job of reducing the footprint of your interchanges.  I'd recommend checking out the "Show us your Interchanges" threads, including "Part One" and "Part Two" here at ST, as well as the similar thread over at SC4 Devotion for ideas.  I'd also check out asteconn's RHW Tutorial Videos on YouTube.

Since the Maxis interchanges are extraordinarily out of scale (the ramps on some of them being less than 150 feet/48 meters long!), you'll never see something that small ever be made possible for the RHW, nor will you ever see "prefab" Maxis Highway-style "plop interchanges" for the RHW.

Hope that answers your questions!
