Rendering Greater Vancouver

Hi,

I've spent 5 hours rendering the Greater Vancouver region. It contains about 200 large city tiles.

I'm using 1 trrain mod, 1 water mod and 1 rock mod. I have a lot of files in the plugins.

Last week it only took 1-1/2 hours to complete.

Should I minimise SC4 Deluxe to desktop, restart the computer, delete this region and restart the game?

Any tips is appreciated.

Well I have quite a big plugin collection, something way over 2GB, and I'm also working in a Region, so what I did is renamed the plugin folder created a new Plugin folder and moved the terrain and tree mod's that I'm using for the region to this new folder, this significantly improved the performance.

But I'm no expert!

 Fortunately I saved this region which I rendered in 1-1/2 hours on a USB drive without any of the mods.

 Then I binned the same region which took 6 hours to render only 68 of the 210 large city tiles after restarting the computer.

 My PC only has 512 MB of RAM after my newly installed graphics card (NVidia Geforce 6200) uses up 512 MB of the 1 GB of RAM.

 I just need to install another 2 - 3 GB of RAM.

 Then I can work out how to use this Start Up Manager or to do what you did.
