Wow, PEG really knows how to make smooth looking BATs.

Nice little logging town! Are there homes that go along with that?

Kent City, Part III: Nighttime Ball

Welcome back! We've just finished a $1,000 shopping spree at Willow Place...it looks a little dark out.

    82265050.png

I see some lights nearby...ooh! Welcome to Acer Pitch, home of Kent City FC! Currently off-season due to a bribery scandal.

    11193696.png

The nearby Kent City Mall has complained about Kent City FC fans using their parking, so two garages were built.

Kent City's government has hoped to host a Simlympic game soon and have built four new stadiums near Acer Pitch..first up is the Kent National Stadium.

Second is the heated National Swimming Center...cozy.

The nearby retractable roof belongs to SAFECO Field, modeled after the Seattle ballpark. The Kent Crusaders play in the spring and summer here. The Delson Tower, home to the Kent National Bank, has the best view of the ballpark.

We finish off at the eastern end of the Kent City Canal System, where the recently completed Chase Arena and Events Center.

    Schulmanator - Thanks!

Archean - Thanks! I don't believe there are homes for this specific set, but there is a mod that replaces the Maxis homes with MTP-related homes on the PLEX somewhere.

    _marsh_ - Thanks!

Kent Light Rail, Part I: Red Line

Today we venture out of the city we have come to love and explore the suburban lives of Kentonians and also rural possibilities.

We start at Chase Arena and hop on the eastbound train on the Red Line. This station is shared by two other light rail lines, to be featured soon.

    66945792.png

We travel east before a 90-degree turn south into a new midrise district, we arrive at the N. Freeway Drive station.

    49176827.png

Continuing south, parallel to both a new freeway and Freeway Drive, we stop at the S. Freeway Drive station, which serves a McDonald's. Two future lines go south while we stay eastbound.

Final stop in Kent City proper: Willow Place/Willow Plaza at the southern end of the mall.

Welcome to East Kent! The eastern suburb of Kent City is served by several connections.

We first stop at the East Kent Church of Christ and School, the only Christian church and only private school in the whole country.

    98408737.png

Now, the train shifts a bit and we notice that cars are on either side of us! Median light rail!

Some new rowhouses have taken advantage of the new station at the southern end of a new mall canal. South Mall Canal Station! We decide to go north on the regular line, instead of the emergency line.

    84969114.png

We travel over the mall canal into the new offices, home to several companies.

    21686098.png

Trier Station! The hub of East Kent! This station connects to the subway system that serves the whole country and even includes a station past the international boundary. We reconnect with the emergency loop into "Old Town".

    73828174.png

Last station: Main and Duke. This is the main stop for most people who live in the apartments that line Main Street.

    710a.png

The trains turn around at a nearby loop. This is only a temporary end of the line, as the line will be extended to rural communities soon.

A map of the Red Line that we just toured.

It is good that you added a map, as otherwise I'd have no clue where all those stations are. I might advise you to next time either say which way is up, or placing a compass in each image. + maybe a clearly visible, but not to distracting, line showing the route we're taking on the actual image, rather than on a map at the end of the update.

    Regards,

    Korot

    Farewell...

    First, happy Easter!

    snorrf.jpg

I have too much going on right now. I guess I should really start downsizing my CJ load, so first goes the showcase.

    So...bye!

Korot - I'll take all of your suggestions in hand in my other CJs.

penguin007 - Thanks! Those buildings are the "Modern Walk-Ups" by Jasoncw on the STEX.
