For some reason a city on one of the biggest tile, a new neighborhood section i built has this problem, at first it was developping but no one was going to work and eventually buildings got the no road connection icon and gets abandonned, then i just destroyed it all and rebuilt and no nothing develops and all the residential areas show a no road connection. Anyone else get this problem? Any solutions? Im using the Deluxe edition and have the latest patch available (the official site wont help me =.=).

If you could get a screen shot of the area it would help.

Holy Crap that's a big area.Well looks like the roads are alright.

Have You tried just dezoning all the residential zones with the no road zot on it?

I know you mentioned you destroyed it all,but did you dezone it.

If the zots don't disapear right away after dezoning Leave the area dezoned for a

while & see if the zots disappear.

Once the zots disappear re-zone the area & see if it comes back it shouldn't though.

.

It's a shot in the dark but maybe there are too many roads around the zones

& the game can't figure which one to use,try bulldozing some if you didn't

already do that.2.gif & dezone & wait if needed &  rezone.

If it works you can always put the roads back later.

I don't know of anything else to try.The game is annoying at times thats for sure.

i already did destroyed the roads once 3.gif When i said i destroyed i really got rid of everything (zones, roads and facilities ) x3 And this is the default roads config that formed when i layed the zones around. Anyway i tried waiting and eventually developement started happening and some areas started to travel to jobs but they quickly became abandonned for commute time (even thought it said short prior to that). My guess at this point is either the game files or map file corrupted somewhere or my comp just isnt powerfull enough to handle the bigger map types (866 mhz pentium 3 whit 768 megs of ram). Oh well, gonna reinstall or something i guess. And thanks for trying to help.

Your computer is not the problem maybe your city got corrupt like you wrote
or it's just a bug with the game.

It takes between a few months and a few years to start developing a zone. Usually in this time there are no road zots over the zones. This is just a limitation of the game. It may be due to the size. I would try developing it in smaller chunks.

Also try zoning some comercial. I noticed that the industrial demand is right down. I know that if thee isn't enough jobs then the sims just wont come; no matter how high the demand.
