Unexplained things happening after Ilive's reader used

I just downloaded Ilives reader and figured out how to modd some small things....I will keep this as simple as it

really is. I modded the water pump so I would only need one per city(ie, 200,000 water pumped), and all of a sudden

my school or fire departments investment funds go down by them selves. .... And on a different modd, My police stations

funds max out.....BY THEMSELVES!!!.....so fustrated.....I reinstalled the game 3 times, backed it up, and deleted my plugins...but as soon as I mod something, it goes crazy.

Sounds like the "Phantom Slider Bug". Did you delete all the lots that were in the city before using the newly modded ones. If not, that could be what is causing the issue. Even re-installing the game won't help if you copied the cities you were using into the new installation. You can find a bit of an explanation and a possible fix here.

This is from an other instance...wonder if I can do the same.

"Thanks for those experiments, Adam. Since plopping a building increases the subfile by some 1 or 2 kB, I would assume that the game stores an entire copy of the building exemplar file. This seems to be true for civic buildings as well, which is causing all those "phantom slider" bugs if you edit a building's budget or capacity properties without bulldozing all instances first. Since the values from the modified exemplar file clash with the ones that are stored in the savegame, the budget gets completely screwed up and your budget sliders slowly go to zero over the time."

My understanding is, before using any modded lots, first delete all like lots in the game and save. After that, you can place the modded lot in the plugins for use. If you have saved a city with both pre-modded and modded lots (causing the bug), you'll need to delete all like lots (with the modded file in the plugins), save and exit the city. After that, things should work.

You might want to test the modded lots out on a new city to see if they are functioning as expected.
