Wikipedia has amply succeeded in its mission over these past 9 years. May it live long and prosper in the next 9 years.

We can say that encyclopedias have died in less than 9 years. Although lots critisize Wikipedia (most of all don't know about citacions, discussion pages, etc.) I see a brilliant future for it; specially for the editions written in "minor" languages!

Wikipedia was a truly brillant idea. No ads, and all the pages are written by volunteers. The website has helped me with much of school homework. Of course I do not use information from that website because the information may be incorrect, however, it helps me understand each topic and gives a great generalization of every article. The website also has link and citations on the bottom with correct information I can use as well to help me. Wikipedia has truly become great 21st century innovation. Happy Wikipedia Day Everyone!  Looks like we will need a cake for this one!

thats a good looking cake, and Wikipedia is #3 on my favorite websites Its a great place, all fact, no boring sentences that go on and on, and small font that makes your eyes explode, and still teachers have a fit if you use it on a book report. Which i use but dont list on the bibliography

Agreed.

I don't know where I would be without Wikipedia...

-Use it to quickly find trivia answers (like yesterday)

-Essays, reports, etc

-Great resource for other website resources, too.

-Reading French Wikipedia has no doubt helped me in that language.

-The same is true for Italian, Spanish, and even Japanese Wikipedia.

-Good place for intellectual discusson

-Learn something new everyday!

...and that's why it's my second most commonly used website after ST, but still ahead of Bing and Google.
