hi.

I currently have vista 64 bit ultimate using the latest nvidia drivers for my 8800gtx's.

the nvidia driver version : 195.62.

http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/win7_winvista_64bit_195.62_whql_uk.html

The reason i have started this thread is to find out what others are currently using to run sc4 and rush hour. Looking through other peoples threads, i have found nothing involving certain version of drivers and their compatibility, but its obvious to me that my sc4/sc4 rushhour does not work.

When executing rush hour, my monitor flickers, as if to start up the intro but leads to crashing directly to desktop without an error, or evidence of it even trying.

Has anyone had similar issues?

what driver versions are you using?

Please help. i really want to get back into playing sc4 again.

thanks.

    hi again, just an update.

Since posting this thread, i have tried 2 different versions of drivers with no luck.

    190.38whql geforce 8 series driver

    185.85whql geforce 8 series driver

Both drivers were unsuccessful including the up to date version.

Im guessing vista 64bit just isnt compatibile with my system. i really dont understand why others using the same OS are getting it to work. maybe a little light on driver versions might help my cause.

please help with suggestion if possible.

    thanks.

If you have a wide screen moniter, it could be it doesn't support the resolution you are using. There are topics on how to set a custom resolution that your moniter will support.

    hi tungston.

My monitor is 19" widescreen , running 1400x900 resolution.

After struggling alot i managed to find a process within the task manager that might be of some interest.

When starting sc4, i get "~e5d141.tmp" image name popup with a description "clean up".

I've tried varies things like changing the DEP to changing the properties within the shortcut/exe file.
