How do you stop a diagonal footpath changing to grass?

When a diagonal road has commercial zoned on one side, a footpath appears on both sides of the road. However, when you plop a lot next to that footpath, opposite the commercial zoning, the footpath changes to grass. Is there any way of stopping that from happening so that it remains footpath?

I'm asking because I'm making a plaza set and it looks stupid when there's grass between it and the road.

That footpath will appear when your plaza lot is set to low wealth or no wealth.  (Footpaths are low wealth)

To fix it, change the wealth property of your path to Medium or High.

You can use plugin manager reader or sc4 tool to do this. You will have to change the lot file and not the desc file.

    Just to clarify, are you saying to change the wealth setting for the plaza lot or for the footpath?

    What effect does the wealth setting have on something like a plaza lot? And what would be the effect of lowering it other than changing that grass into footpath?

    You will have to change the wealth for the plaza lot. On park lots, changing the wealth doesnt really do much other than changing how the roads look. Roads or streets will always look like the wealth level of the object that has the higest wealth beside it. So if you put a high wealth objcet beside the road it would look high wealth, if you put a medium wealth it would be medium etc.
