Crashes when playing online

 Hi everybody!

Yesterday I subscribed for PO. Everything is fine, the bus system is very good, BUT the game is crashing for me all the time I try to quit. This causes my cities to not be saved on the server. Sometimes the game is crashing till I'm just playing. I submitted a support ticket but I want to know if anybody has  the same problem (I'm pretty sure that there will be someone)

i have absolutely the same problems with game!

when quitting, and sometimes till i`m just playing - game crashed.

this start happens after the last patch.

It crashes no matter I quit from 'X' button or quit to planet view. It's totally unplayable for me - I cannot save my city and sometimes the game crashes when playing. I was playing the beta and then the game was crashing 10 times fewer - now this happens with the final game after many patches - good job MC! BTW I subscribed for PO only to see the buses and it's a pity I cannot use them in solo mode.

I have the same problem but luckily for me my city will save. But it does me no good as my city also has a bug where a number of buildings I've tried to demolish are stuck with the red status bars showing they are in the process of being demolished...but it's permanently stuck, meaning I have no benefits from the buildings, AND I can't use that space anymore.

I really think Cities XL has a huge amount of potential but the fact that they released this game with SO many issues is simple sloppy. That is my biggest complaint.

I have this problem also. When going to planet mode. So its not just you. Many times itll crash while I am playing.5-6 times a hour. PITA it is. I am going to open a ticket on it as well.

I already opened a ticket on support site. They wanted to send them dxdiag and log files folder. Now asked me for the model of y video card. I'm waiting the response from them.

Hi! Kevin Ar18 thanks for the response. But the problem is that these crashes occur only in PO mode. I have the latest drivers for my video card, audio card, latest bios and so on and I'm able to play solo mode with no problems (only some chaotic crashes when exiting sometimes). The crash occurs when the game is saving my city to the server. In the beta there were the same crashes but the city was successfully saved.

Ive got the same problem with the demo version with 7 day PO trial.

The city saves ok, but in PO screen it crashes after city upload reaches 100%.

I also crash on exit (but city seems to save ok)

I did a complete reinstall and that seems to have fixed the problem, no more crashing after uploading to server or when exiting.....for now

For me reinstalling the game helped too - the crashes are gone now

Curious... does the reinstall erase your cities too? or are they saved in a file somewhere?

They are saved somewhere, but I didn't back them up. After reinstalling my cities were downloaded from the monte christo servers just fine. I could still trade via the website when my game was uninstalled too. So they are saved both locally and on the planet servers.

To find your saved games on your computer you first need to make hidden files visible, then you can find m here:

Where do I find my save files?

First of all, make sure you can see hidden files.

Windows XP:

My Computer > Tools > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders

Windows Vista:

Control Panel > Folder Options > View > Show hidden files and folders

Your save files are located in the “download” folder:

Windows XP:

C:\Documents and Settings\user name\Local Settings\Application Data\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\download

Windows Vista:

C:\Users\user name\AppData\Local\Monte Cristo\Cities XL\download

Ahhh yes i had forgotten about MC saveing everything on their side of things

Yes, keep in mind though when you stop your PO subscription the saved games on the planet server will be deleted after a month (after one week for trial version)
