Abandoned houses due to commute time

Hi, before continuing with my problem I wanted to say that I tried searching "NAM", "commute time" , "commute" and it always returned me this error:

"Your search contained ignored words, ignored words are words like a,and,to,between.Please re-construct your search without these ignored words."

So, as I wasn't able to search for my problem which I think somebody may have faced before, I'll ask you:

I have the problem that the residences are abandoned due to excesive commute time. I read but I didn't fully understand: Do I have to install the Network Addon Mod to fix this right? But what option do I have to choose in it? I guess that Simulator "Z" but I would appreciate some guidance in this.

Edit: Navigating in the forum I found this thread and from what it says there it seems that Simulator "Z" is the way to go to fix the issue with the commute time. Now I realize that I have another problem related to the lights of the buildings that I download but I think I can solve it using this info

Anyway, I still have problems to search anyone can help me on this?

Do you have to use NAM - no. Abandonment due to commute time could be caused Sims not being able to find an appropriate job within a reasonable amount of time. This could be caused by a lack of appropriate job or by it taking a long time to get to an approriate job either because of distance or time. Check whether jobs are available for the level of Sims looking and the congestion of your transportaion networks. Remember, the higher the population, the more mass transport you probably need. Don't depend on car traffic only.

Now having said all that, does NAM help - yes. The newer traffic simulators (A, B, and Z) do a better job of finding routes for Sims to get to the jobs. So choosing one of those might help with commute time, but it's not guaranteed. It would depend on how your city is setup. And be careful not to choose one of the Park-and-Ride options unless that's what you want. As for which traffic controller is the "best", that would depend on what you want to see in the game and the size of your cities.

Using the information about the night lights on the page you linked to should clear that up.

Thank you for your help! But I still can't see the nightlights. I have the same problem that is posted in this thread , the difference is that I have simcity deluxe 1.1.638 and I can't see the lights of Simcity Plaza by joerg so I tried the following (one time with sku 1 and another with sku 2) :

1)I uninstalled the NAM

2)Uninstalled the game (leaving the cities)

3)Leave the plugins folder empty

3)Installed the game

4)Applied EP1 Update

5)Applied SC4Update4BAT

But I still can't see the lights. I read in the thread that I linked before that SC4Update4BAT would update the version of the game to 1.1.640 but in my case it's still 1.1.638. Is there an update that I am missing (I recall reading somewhere about an EP2 Update or something) Thanks for your help!

PS: Sorry for the bold letter, after I copied "EP1 Update" It stays there no matter I deselected it

Until you successfully get the version to be 1.1.640 you won't have the nightlights. Read youir patch log and find out why the 640 patch failed.

Thanks for your response. I read both logs but I didn't find anything wrong except for a warning which I read that I should no mind it.
