Hi everyone,

I was hoping someone could tell me what they are using to paste their screenshots into and upload to this site. I am using Microsoft paint and uploading with image shack and I am not happy with the quality. I'm looking to improve my city journal but the images look pixilated. Most journals I see have pictures with much better quality!

Any help would be much appreciated!

Your problem would be using MS Paint, it has a pretty lame image rendering when importing. I suggest using GIMP found at gimp.org. Dodgy name, but it's free!

The problem with Microsoft Paint is that it only saves to about 75% quality; in the JPEG format at least. Jpeg is known as a lossy format; meaning you are always going to loose some detail no matter what you do; however MSPaint saves it in less than optimum quality.

As jim 546 said; you're going to want to have a better programme to save your screenshots in. I recommend either Paint.NET or the GIMP; both free software. GIMP has more features, but is far harder to learn (though all you are going to want to do is Save As...JPEG...100% quality).

That sounds really odd. Granted I haven't used Paint.NET in ages, but if I recall you can paste screenshots easily into it. It should just be a case of Edit: Paste. You could try reinstalling it; that might work.
