CXL CUSTOMIZATION

CXL has so much potential and on the surface it looks really great.  Unfortunately, I think that what is really missing is customization.  Everything is cookie cutter and doesn't allow for a lot of variety, i.e; all lots are a uniform square 3x3, and lots built on slopes have terraces even on very small slopes.

Here's my idea for the developers:
-allow players to plop house/buildings as opposed to square lots excluding all decorations such as trees or bushes,
-give the ability to plop greenery around buildings to add to the detail and realism,
-lose the terraced walls when placing on slopes.
-allow the ability to plop fences, trees, shrubs, etc, etc.

A better idea is to make ploppable buildings of odd sizes (20x20, 20x40, 20x60, 40x20, 40x60, 60x40m and possibly 10, 15, 25, 30, 35, 45, 50, and 55m because that was difficult but possible in City Life) and to make prop families (different plants, lawn furniture, and cars, different color schemes for buildings). The second one might not be possible and the closest easy thing to do is to make multiple copies of the same building with small differences but that would waste a lot of hard-drive space unless the 3D models are separate from the lots (like in City Life). The ability to make custom content would also help greatly, especially if it had a City Life-compatible Building Customization Editor.

Ocram's Razor: Though "more things shouldn't be used than are necessary," they're just too fun to pass up! Expect many verbose arguments from me. I will try to write abstracts before or short summaries after from now on.

Words to live by:
"Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit. But to each one is given the manifestation of the Spirit for the common good. For to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, and to another the word of knowledge according to the same Spirit; to another faith by the same Spirit, and to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit... But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

"Do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will care for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own." Matthew 6:34
"Do not judge so that you will not be judged. For in the way you judge, you will be judged; and by your standard of measure, it will be measured to you." Matthew 7:1-3
