Duplicate Finder and remover,

The guy was telling how he always uses it, and The only thing I remember it started with an h something, when I downloaded it there were two choices a free version and a another that cost, I downloaded the free version and it worked great, how ever lost it before had a chance to backit up. Anyone know which program I'm after?

I have a question. I just downloaded Duplicate Files Deleter but I don't know if I need to keep lots that are duplicates. For example it looks like Hecht's and Sears both use the same lot. Can I safely delete one of them or will that cause one of them to not grow?

Also, what's up with the models being a duplicate? They all have totally different names.

P.S. Great program! Will help me clean up my Plugins folder some more.

Morlow, I'm sure someone will come along and contradict me, so wait a day or so after reading this before you do anything. BUT....

...for what it's worth, I've always deleted duplicate files if they have the exact same name and size. (Even if it has the same name, size and DATE...but different time...it's still okay to delete the older one and keep the newer one.) The reason is because they are dependencies or props that were probably included twice in a specific download, but the creator may have made two separate folders in the download, one for each building....and thus included the prop twice in case you only choose to add one building folder to your plugins. Or maybe they were separate downloads by the same creator, which used the same lot but different models. The Hecht's and Sears download you mention is a perfect example. I have those exact same downloads, but there's only one instance of the lot included in my plugins folder because I deleted the duplicate......yet I can still choose whichever building I want to plop in my city, and yes it shows up.

Just make sure you make a backup copy of your plugins folder first before you delete anything. I make a separate folder on my desktop which I label "Plugins and Regions backups", then all I do is right-click on the plugins folder, copy it, paste it inside that backups folder I created on my desktop.
