Trains...?

I'm confused with trains, frieght in this case. Where exactly do I lay my railroad tracks? Do I just place them next to the train station? How do they work also, should I place a freight station near each industrial zone or what?

Yes you make sure your rail road tracks are connected to the stayion in some way.

 

You should place passenger train stations on commuter routes e.g one in a industrial area then one in a residential area nearby. Passengers will reach the train station from there house by car/walk or other public tansport. Passengers will get from the train station to there work place in the same way except car as they have left it at home/in the first station carpark. (Bear in mind that all other stations in Sim City e.g monorail stations do not have car parks.)

 

You should place fright stations in a industrial area then link the tracks to the edge of the map. Trucks will take the fright from the industry to the station by truck. (Bear in mind that if the industry is directley next to a train track it can link with the track directley without the need for a fright train station.)
