Invalid Junctions (Highways)!!!

Hi

I have a highway - River - then a highway, I tried to make a highway bridge to link them but it says invalid junction. even though the bridge is of the same look and capacity (both of 320 cars)

The only thing that accepts both connection is the "T" shape highway, I can connect to it a highway and a a highway bridge.

so I did this, Highway - T juntion - Highway Bridge - T Junction - Highway which is very expensive and I do not need the "T"s

is this a bug, or am I doing somthing wrong?

Thank You

its a bug, you can only build highway bridges or tunnels by connecting them to intersections

actually a interchange is only about 400c if thats expensive to your city budget you should not be building a highway, you should be using expressways, this is why they unlock so late in the game to ensure your citys budget can support them (unless you have expert mode on... )

Not to mention, the interchange has to be on perfectly flat land. I often use bridges (or rather the bridge tool, with the nodes on the ground) on rougher land because they keep the road from roller coaster-ing. But since bridges can't make trade connections, I have to switch back to regular highway at the interchange prior to the boarder, which isn't always convenient. Either way, it's a silly bug.
