Game Crashes to Desktop when Exiting to Region

I have been playing SimCity 4 Deluxe edition for a while but lately I have cases where the game crashes to the desktop or locks up when I exit a city to a region.  This happens after I use the same game and exit to region option, which the city is then saved, but the crash occurs after the save.  In the latest incident, the game locked up instead of crashing.  I use Windows XP Home Edition SP3 with an AMD Athlon 64 Processor 3700+ rated at 2.19 GHz, ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series, 2 GB RAM, a 3GB pagefile, and a 240 GB hard drive.  The first such crash occurred about three months ago and I went at least a month before the second crash.  I am often adding or changing plugins.

are you building a giant region>?? i have this same problem when the regions are huge... also quick saves don't update the region shot... so that could be crashing it

No, the region is 20 x 20. I made it from the SC4 Terraformer. The first crash occurred when I was playing a smaller region, so region size apparently does not factor.

Also you have to keep in mind that Sc4 just crashes. So save often.

Now there is another possibility to. If you drag a Puzzle Piece across

a Transit Station it will cause Sim City 4 to crash so make sure you

don't do that ...Now there is a complete section in the Omnibus to

this matter .Click Here to View the section in the Omnibus . I hope that

helps ...Oh and remember to try to keep your Plug ins folder organized

just incase you need to narrow down the files until you find the Mod or

BAT that is causing the Issue ...

That has happend to me before everytime i tried to enter my city it would crash and exit the game to the point that i had to make a new city have not had a problem sense, however i still can't go back to the city that crashes.
