Trading...

Today trading was very poor. I wasn't able to trade sufficiently. Each time I am checking the trading window, my game freezes waiting for a response of the server.

I am willing to make cities and destroy them after reaching 200,000 citizens, but not forever.\

If the game isn't better at 15th of January 2010, it is finished for me. If trading isn't way better at that time, I am not willing to pay money for this game. I will spend my money for better things.

So, Monte Cristo, do something about trading. Improve it, or I quit.

if you fail at 200,000 is something you are doing, i am on my second city right now, 1st one got to 150,000 and is still playable but not to much because of bad decisions, however my 2nd city is at 567,000 population and 3rd city is at 300,000 (3rd city is just light industry and manufacturing, 2nd city is everything not city wide polluting) both my 2nd and 3rd cities are booming, the 2nd one has cash flow of almost 200k 3rd ones sitting at 20-50k take a look at Afton Lakes on Prospero   thats my 2 nd city, and no i never played the beta or the very brief demo this game has its quirks yes but they are not as bad as they seem if you take your time, read the FAQ and hints and tips stickey's on this forum and you will do fine

    Jeremy,

    Can you make your text more readable? BTW, I stay on my decision. The lag is gone at 15th of Jan 2010, or I quit. I think I cannot do much if the trading system is not working. It is a server side issue, not my behaviour or strategy. If this is solved, I can see what I am doing wrong, and cannot pass 200,000. At this moment, I can't use your suggestions.

    Which server are you using, the German one? The US servers are supposed to have improved and there have been updates to help. But I do not plan on paying for Planet Offer until June (money and time constraints, too high of a percentage of my income for the small amount of free time I will have).

But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually..." 1 Corinthians 4-11

    I'm not having any troubles with lag at the moment, I think there are issues at times when certain goods are not available. Have you sent a ticket to MC asking if you are experiencing a bug?

    Is there a way to send an in-game ticket?

    To summarize my problems:

    - Parks don't decrease pollution from Heavy Industry and Manufacturing;

    - Business Hotels don't work. Players give advice to build them on roads where there are many Passengers;

    - Public services have too little effects when the city gat some size. They are too expensive. Either the maintenance costs must be decreased, or they must be more effective;

    - If you want to buy tokens by means of trading there is no confirmation messagebox. Actually it is not possible to buy tokens. Because of lack of tokens you cannot improve your city;

    - Game is frozen for several seconds because it is waiting for response from the server.

    I am willing to pay monthly costs for this game, but the requirement is that I am supposed to have fun to play it. If this continue, I will not buy more playing time, and I will spend my money for other things. I will continue playing WoW, because that gives me fun, so there is no reason to stop playing that game.

    Plazas should do nothing but green parks (includes avatar park) should indeed lower pollution.

    You might not have demand for hotels, click the button for them and the game will give you a message whether you are doing it right.

    Leisure buildings should be cheaper or let you turn a profit from high usage (like in City Life).

    There is a mod for the education buildings so the different buildings (elementary + high school + university) will stack.

    If you do not have enough cash flow, you cannot buy tokens, if you have tokens you can try to sell them for a higher price or trade them for other tokens. If you cannot do that, you are doomed to failure.

    That is annoying and should be fixed.
