Problem with Missions

A few times when I accept taking on a mission, when I hit the W key after the 3 second countdown, I get the message that I failed the mission, thus lowering my mayor rating and simoleons. Has anyone else had this happen? Is it some type of glitch?

What mission are you doing? On the bus one it sometimes does that early on, but other than that, it might be a glitch.

I've had it happen to me on occasion, just like the old "Cement Truck spawning on you at start" issue too. Its a glitch, and there's no real fix for it that I know of.

My guess is that you reach the specifications for the mission, start it, and then while the countdown is happening, the specifications are no longer achieved. Then the game rejects the mission. As you may or may not know, the game can get sort of stuck like this. It thinks you can start missions, then it stops you. That's just my guess.

It happens with buses and police cars. This doesn't happen all the time, but enough for me to consider it a glitch, as some of you already stated. I like doing missions in order to unlock some of the civic buildings. Thanks to all for the replies. As someone here stated: just leave them alone
