Custom Query Noises

Okay, so I made some houses and things like that. However, I get kind of tired of the "generic" Maxis resident dorbell sounds (as well as some others). I heard that you can add your own custom sounds to via changing a property in the Reader with the building, but I have no idea on how to do it or what has to be done.

Could somebody help me on this or show me where I need to go to read up on it?

There is a tutorial on creating Custom Queries in the Omnibus Here.  Although It does not mention adding custom sounds specifically, I can see from browsing the article that the field you need to alter is in Building Exemplar from the SC4Lot file you are constructing the query for.  It is called SFXuery Sound
