this is my first cj. Here is my remake of cleveland, its not that accurate with the roads, but some are. the highways are almost perfect to real life. some roads like St claire ave are done, and i tried to make the bridges like in the real cleveland. im currently not done with this city, i just started and only have like 38k residents. my goal is too get at least 800k residents to a million. i hope i can figure out how to post my pics on here. im gonna go to photo bucket and see whats up.

I will try to post some pics here in a little bit. mostley pics of some ghettos from the west side lol, i havnt got to the east side yet. i have the downtown almost layed out as far as roads go. i'll be back in a little bit with pics.

Good start, really got the poor, gritty, industrial bit down.

I don't see how you could do it with out the Terminal Tower, or Higbee's or Halle's, or Euclid Avenue, the Old Arcade, etc....

For that matter, Cleveland is only loosely gridded, basically it's just numbered streets, and they aren't all grid-conforming either.

What about the Detroit-Superior bridge? How could you do that?

yes i think i got that detroit bridge down ok. i dont know too much about cleveland. i mean i live 40 minutes south of cle

only been there several times.

i know there not grid like streets, canton onio is like that lol. but im not gonna attempt to get all the streets realistic. i do however have some diaginal roads like cleveland has.

with this city im trying to get that ghetto type look lol. but its basicly its my own version of the city so i cant get every thing down like i want too :[

Well i decided to add the cle mods to see what it looks like. im at 48k residents rite now. i got the shecky tower {not sure what its called}, and the key tower. i have been looking for arial views of the downtown on google. so now i have a good idea where to place the mods. however i cant get the rock n roll hall a fame to show up in my land marks :[

also there is this one building that i cant find a mod for, so i used the defualt land mark from san fransico. cuz that looks kinda simular i guess.

i will post some pics of the downtown, it is not done yet due to lack of population. i believe its at least 50k to get skyscrapers {thats what i heard}. so keep that in mind when i post the pic cuz it aint perfect yet, the only tall buidings are the mods lol.

maybe in the future i will redo the west side cuz i think its too grid like {like squares lol}. and create more diaginal roads mixed with some space in between some parts of the city. so tell me what you guys think. should i redo the west side?

 

also if you guys knotice any thing wrong with the city {like out of place buildings etc} let me know and i will try to correct them. also if you guys have any ideas for this city lemme know and i will try to add them.

Eventually i want to do the whole greater cleveland area. like east cle, cle heights, shaker heights, bedford etc. and i will look at all the google images {and maps} for each suburb and try to recreate those also. cuz i have the whole cleveland region. man i cant wait ti'll this is all finished haha gonna be awesome.

yeah im working on the layout, naming roads, highways etc. trying the best i can to get major roads accurate. i actually printed out a map from google of the roads.

i havnt started on the rta yet. i should do that right now. but how would i go about doing that? i dont think its elevated rail...  is there an option to make it ground level? im not sure lol. all i know is that there are regular rail roads{and elevated}.

yeah that would be great if someone on the net made the terminal tower.

im gonna post some pics of the major roads and avenues going thru the east side. tell me if there ok, if not i'd be happy to change them. but before i do...i read on the rules sticky and it said something about people bumping there cj's alot, and posting too many pics in one nite or something lol. am i breaking the forum rules by posting too much? i dont think i am but lemme know..

Uhm, do you have The NAM: It has ground level Elevated (Rapid) rail www.simtropolis.com/stex/details.cfm

I don't see how you could do a CJ otherwise, NAM is necessary.

Screw it, im redoing the whole westside lol too much grid crap. but im sure its gonna take away alot of funds from taxes :[

im looking at the google map rite now and i dont even have room for Brookside park...im gonna leave a few things like the high ways. and theres two more highways i need to put in, plus a bridge, alot of bridges haha.

ahh as a resident of cleveland, just some tips

dont forget to add 90 (the trench) going around on the east and south sides of downtown.

the near east side is the "ghetto" and the the east suburbs are all the high class R$$$ areas

the west side (especially close to downtown) is actually quite nice

will do. thanks for the info man. basicly what im doing is.. all major highways, avenues, roads, but not streets..that will take me a long time. i would love to do the streets to the real thing, but i dont have that much patiance hehe.

so im just gonna look at my map i printed out, and get some ideas for the streets {the grey roads in the game} and make my own.

EDIT: wow...i took a look at 90 and realized i didnt put 90 across the river and SOUTH of downtown, and then go all the way up to burke lakefront airport. im gonna fix this. thanks for tellin me.

Sigh..had to start over. this mod i had in installed really destroyed my taxes. resulting in major loss of funds. what happened was once you install the industry quadrupalor or whater its called..you cant unistall it. unlees you dont wanna see your city again.

however, i have a good start so far
