Plot Placement Issues

I'm having trouble with placement of some plots and am wondering if there is some kind of solution.

For example, I use the zone placement tool to create a 3x2 zone of 6 plots, surrounded by a road.  Later on, after the plots have developed and I want to upgrade a plot to a higher density or something else, after bulldozing the plot sometimes I cannot get a new plot to take it's place.  It always snaps too far to one side or the other so the edge overlaps the road/sidewalk or the neighboring plot and gives the 'Not Enough Room' error.  The emply space is big enough because there was a plot there before I deleted it but now I can't get a new one to fit.  Sometimes, if I have the patience of Job to sit there for 5 minutes to move it back and forth, sometimes it will turn green for a split second and if I'm fast enough I can click and plop the zone but more often than not it snaps to it's misaligned grid too fast.

Is there anything I can do to stop it from snapping to the grid like that?  It's extremely frustrating and makes upgrading stuff impossible at times.

That issue has existed since the beta launched. Seems they never fixed it. It got to the point I stopped using the auto grid and left space between plots to avoid this. The roads don't always square up either even though the look like it. Some time if you delete the road and place it again you can get around the 5 minutes back and forth. But I stress sometimes.

Yes, this problem is really annoying.

I believe that this occurs because when you bulldoze the plot you also lower the ground below the plot removed but not of the road around it, sometimes just a little bit, but sometimes you create very big holes in the ground (I've seen in my game holes with what should be ingame like 10 m depth, next time this happens i will take a screenshoot to post here).

This gap between the road and the ground doesn't let you create a new plot. If you bulldoze a larger area and after that use the terraformer tool to soft the gaps you will be able to create all the plots again in the previous locations ( or at least the most of them ). But sure this is a LOT of work, and your city will surely suffer from this activity......

I really hope that Monte Cristo fix that bug in a soon-to-release patch........, i really hope...

p.s. sry if i misspelled some words, but my english is not that good.

Snaps are borked.. Try deleting one of the surrounding roads, set the lot then replace the road. When you set the zone the road snaps were one place. When you added a road somewhere else the snap point shifted.  If you look you will see that the lot is snapping 5 meters.  This shows up in a couple of places.  It causes building to lose street connections randomly if you move things around in a given area.  Good Luck!1.gif

I've noticed similar happenings with road placement as well. After demolishing some buildings to make way for a fancy avenue (Or whatever it was called), the road would randomly tell me it didn't fit, even though I cleared out 4 lanes worth of space for it. It was like it was hitting something that didn't get fully demo'd.
