Building is in a BOX

Hello, everyone. This may sound so embarrassing, but I am not very good at SC4. I tried it a couple of years ago then I stopped. I decided to try it again recently. However, I noticed that some of the buildings (Commercial Buildings, in my case) are in a Gift Box. I do not know how to solve that problem. I checked my Plugins folder but there was no file there pertaining to the "Building".

I am using SC4 (not deluxe and not rush hour).

Any help will be very much appreciated.

Please also explain it in a way a non-expert like me will understand. Thanks.

Most of the custom content for SC4 is designed only for the Rush Hour/Deluxe versions of the game.

The brown box appears because there is a dependent file missing, or the lot was not meant for your version of the game.

Thanks a lot! I had that suspicion.

How do I stop it from popping up? It is an office/commercial building that keeps on popping up on commercial land.

I checked the Plugins folder for that file so I could remove it but I did not find it. It is this EuroLuxuryStore something (if I got it right). Do you know any other way for me to remove it so that it won't show in the game?

The file name could be completely different than the lot query name.  I am not familiar with the lot, unless it is the Euro Lux Boutique, and I don't know which version it came with.  It should not have a brown box, unless someone modified it, and then it would be in the plugins folder.

Is it a small long building with a blue roof? [Oh, I guess if you are getting a brown box, you might not see the building]

It's in a big brown box so I wouldn't know how it looks like. : )

I guess I will have to see each file in the Plugins folder. I don't have a lot of files in the Plugins folder anyway so it shouldn't be too much of a hassle.

By the way, now that you mentioned that the file could have a different name from that appearing in the game (lot query), I think I know what it is. I believe it is that Dutch office building. I'll check it out.

Ok i get a building in a box too but i'm using the deluxe version of SC4. Maybe it because i don't know where to put the files. There are 3 a SC4DESC file a SC4LOTand a SC4MODEL.

Also is there an actual help forum to help a beginner out.

That only appears because you downloaded something without downloading the dependencies. Hopefully you still have the folder from when you downloaded it so you can read the read me and find out what you need. Always read the read me file when downloading new stuff.
