I have 3ds max 8, but I can not open  the Gmax files,  as I open my one penn plaza in 3ds studio ?

It looks great, but you will need to use a larger lighting rig. To do so, exit out of gmax and go to your gmax/gamepacks/BAT/ directory. There should be two folders by default:

CamLightRigs and Startup

Delete the gmax file in startup (or back it up, I do believe you are provided with another copy in CamLightRigs folder). Then copy one of the larger rigs from CamLightRigs to Startup.

I would suggest trying the medium size first, and if you have anything that does not produce shadows correctly or looks kind of odd try the larger one (named TB2_CameraLightRigMedium.gmax and TB2_CameraLightRigBig.gmax respectively)

Rename that rig you copied into the Startup folder to TB2_CameraLightRig.gmax and you should have a lighting rig that lights the whole scene correctly and you won't get roof items that don't have shadows or crazy shadows at the top of your building!
